Old Man Winter, how I dislike you so.

I hate winter. There, I said it. Now it's out there for the world to know. Although, for those who really know me, this comes as no surprise. And now that I live in the frozen tundra ok Memphis, I have to contend with freezing temps and snow on a semi-regular basis. Which, for me, is too much for me. This South Texas girl loves her hot summers, long days, and winters that include wearing flip flops. I hate wearing coats, socks, and anything heavy or restricting. When it snows, I like to look at it through the window. Ironically, I love to ski, go figure? I'm sure there are a million reasons why that is "ok" in my world, but I won't bore you with that.

Unfortunately, I think my " winter dislike" is rubbing off on my kids. They whine about putting on shoes with socks and there is a never a moment that Jack doesn't let me forget that he doesn't want to wear his jacket. So there is a lot of time spent inside at home during the winter. (And if you are Jack, this means in your underwear and pj shirt).

So we play games.
 And eat.
And keep warm by snuggling with our dogs.
 And play the Wii

And make cookies. Chocolate chip of course.

And when old man winter rears his ugly head and it snows, we bundle up (which takes at least 30 minutes)and head outside so we can fulfill all childhood obligations, and play in the snow. For 10 minutes. MAX! And that is if it is a good day.

 It always starts out great.

And always ends up like this.
