Sum Sum Summertime

Auntie Summer came for a quick visit last Thursday and Friday. Jack was smitten. He decided to flex his baby boy muscles and impress his new friend by taking out and showing her every item in this house that he believes is his. This includes, but limited to, every single toy he owns and the contents of Tupperware cabinet. Usually when someone comes over to the house, Jack gets very clinging and territorial of me. Not with Summer. He ditched me to the curb and showed her his "Backyardigain's Dance" and was all smiles and flirts. Guess I got a taste of what is to come in his teenage years huh?

Thanks to my sweet friend Kim who agreed to watch Jack for Friday afternoon, (along with her 13 month old boy also named Jack - sweet sweet friend!!!) Summer and I were able to revisit 2 of our passions: greasy fattening food and rock and roll. So we headed down to Beale Street for the obligatory Memphis BBQ.
Before

(Yes it is BBQ nachos. We prefer our BBQ with chips and cheese)

After

(Please note that I said before that we have a passion for greasy fattening food. That should explain the complete emptiness of my plate-the top one -no I did not eat 2 plates. That and being almost 7 months pregnant will do it every time.) From fatness to Rock and Roll. We went to Sun Studios where Elvis and Johnny Cash (just to name a few) recorded their first songs. Not to mention U2 recorded here in semi-recent years and the movie Walk the Line filmed here as well. I have to say, it is a very cool place and I will take anyone back who wishes to see it, unlike Graceland! Here are a few pictures of us indulging in our other passion....

Fun times! Thanks for visiting Summer - Jack is already asking about your next visit ;)

alright!!! You know I am vain and love posts totally dedicated to me!

Aunite Summer was totally smitten with Jack as well. Again, still odd that at one time we did things like eat whole boxes of velveeta shells & cheese and stay up til 3am. Now, we are asleep by 11:30 because your baby wakes up at 5:30 am! ;)

I can't wait to come back! (and make you go to Graceland!)

Your sister is so pretty...and stylish too! I love her sunglasses and the way that she is "rockin' out" in that last photo.

I'm glad that you guys had a fun time together. Hooray for sisters!
