What? Jack actually smiles?

Yes my child smiles. A lot. Actually most of the time (unless it is bedtime and he realizes that mean mommy took away his pacifier, but we are hoping that is temporary). But our slow point and shoot camera just wasn't fast enough to catch these alleged smiles because you see, Jack is busy. He has things to do, people to see, puppies to kiss. No time to sit around and have his picture taken. So if I get him to look at me and smile, by the time my old camera took the picture all you would get is the back of his head. Well, in my mind I have always been an aspiring photographer (as well as baker) but have never made the leap to own any serious camera equipment. But my sweet husband decided to help bring my dreams to reality and kick start a new hobby for me - so he got me a new camera for my birthday (yes very early, but when he told me about it I just couldn't wait 6 more weeks!). So after researching and reviewing, I picked up my sparkly new Sony Alpha 300A DSLR camera along with 2 lenses, memory cards, and a fancy new camera bag from Wolf camera yesterday. I cannot tell you how excited I am! But when I got home, I realized that I have a TON to learn - thankfully Wolf camera threw in some classes for me so I don't go crazy trying to teach myself not only about the principles of photography, but how to even turn on the camera. Eager to become the next Ansel Adams, I took Jack outside for some playtime for him and for me. And low and behold, I caught some smiles - at 3 shots per second, I better....I am getting Photoshop Elements as well so I can enhance the pictures and add all of the creative effects. So be on the look out for many more smiles from Jack :)

My favorite picture so far. Ahh that sweet smile that I can finally share with the world!

Clearly I needed to add a flash to the next few...

Kiss Mommy?

Ready for bed Jack?
