It's a.....

...healthy baby! As for the gender you will just have to wait and see in July! Nathan decided to go for another surprise baby....I know I can here the groans of all of the impatient naysayers out there, but deal with it! The baby looks good and healthy (Praise Jesus! I was so worried lately because I have been reading all of these REALLY sad dead baby blogs - something you shouldn't do while pregnant!) S/he is measuring about a week smaller than I am (almost 19 weeks) which the tech said was consistent with my first scan so they aren't going to change my due date... it is still 7/6/2009.

This time I am actually planning on going for a VBAC with this baby. Yes, I still have a flat or narrow pelvis, but I believe that the Dr who diagnosed me in Houston might have been a tad dramatic when telling me "the baby would get stuck and they would have to break my pelvis to get him out" or that "he might die" etc. I think he had an agenda (my Christmas time due date) and really pushed it on me without giving me the support I needed to make a decision for myself. But being a scared first time Mom, I didn't even think twice about a c section when he said "baby might die" - that's all I heard. Anyways, my Dr here is great and she said that my body would have just stopped progressing in labor telling us that something was wrong. She said that many times we are designed to deliver our babies, flat pelvis or not, and is encouraging me to trust my body and give it a chance. Because Nathan and I have always wanted a large family, we feel like this is the way to go because multiple c sections will end with some sort of complication, be it hemorrhaging or emergency hysterectomy. Now there is no guarantee that I still won't need a c section in the end, but I at least want to try. I know there is a lot of bad press about VBACs (most of which is untrue and grossly exaggerated), but we have done our research (I have read a ton of medical studies - not opinions!) and feel confident in the decision. Just start praying now that I go into spontaneous labor around 38 or 39 weeks! Induction increases the risks with VBACs and Drs really pressure you about going beyond 40 weeks and try and get you to do a c section. All I want is the chance to try! So start praying now for spontaneous labor, a safe delivery, and a healthy baby!!!

So now I leave you with a picture I can't believe I am actually posting on the Internet, I look SO BAD, but after many baby bump requests... Here are Baby and I at 18 weeks. For the record it is late at night and I am exhausted from chasing Jack around all day!

And here is a picture of the little one. We didn't get any really good pictures like we did with Jack, but I know the grandparents will want to see them regarless.
The little foot...

Any guesses about a boy or a girl? I think it is a boy, Summer has bet me Taco Bueno that it is a girl, and Nathan doesn't really have a feeling yet. What do you think???

Yay, so fun! A friend of mine got her VBAC and everything went great. I bet you will too.
Your bump looks great. I like your hair cut too.
As for the sex: I need to know how similar or different this pregnancy is to Jack's before I cast my vote. :)

I also agree with the Doctor that our bodies are designed to have babies! it's for sure worth a try!
