There's no place like home.(click click) There's no place like home.(click click)

Dorthy from the Wizard of Oz said it best, "There's no place like home." Not that Dallas is my "home" technically, but it's where 90% of my friends and 30% of my family live, so it's pretty dang close. So for my 27th birthday (yes I am creeping towards that dirty thirty ever so fast) we hit the road for an 8 hour drive to the Big D, our quasi home.

Our first stop was at Andrea & Travis's to meet baby Paige and see the rest of the family. We met Andrea & Travis when we lived in Phoenix on a setup from a mutual friend. We hit it off and have been great friends ever since. They have a son, Jake who is a year and half, and Paige who is 5 days younger than Jack. So of course we were excited for Jack to meet his future wife ;)
We tried to get them to hold hands - I'm sure they will love this picture when they are teenagers!

We then spent the rest of the weekend with the fam. Tex was the only dog there and was very interested in Jack's toes...

...And my diaper bag...

We had several of Chris & Mairin's and our friends stop by on Saturday night to meet baby Jack.

Jack is modeling his new alligator jammies. He plans to wear these alligator hunting down at the ranch with his Huncle Chris someday - we all think Chris should get a matching set.

Saturday night Nathan and I were able to hit the town with my friends to celebrate Asha's 30th b-day while Nonnie & Pop babysat (aka slept on the couch) - I miss them all so much so it was great to be out with them!

Sunday was filled with more visitors. We had people stopping by all day - he is so very popular.

Jack & I were trying to take a picture but unfortunately this is the best we could get :(

Monday we spent the whole day in the car driving back so we didn't do too much on my b-day. But as soon as we got home Nathan told me he was going to make me a cake from scratch - no box cakes here. He looked up a recipe, went to the store, and baked it all by himself. It was probably one of the cutest things he has ever done for me!
The finished product was pretty fancy & quite tasty! I promise, I didn't help him at all!!!

So all in all, it was a great birthday. Thanks to everyone for making time to see us!

We loved seeing you!
I saw those gator jammies and thought they were so cute! I'm glad you have them b/c Jack looks darling in them.
Great job on the cake Nathan... I'm impressed!
We wish you were still in Texas!!!

I'm so sad you're gone. But at least I know you'll be up to Texas with wedding duty soon! Happy Birthday!

Sounds wonderful! Glad your 27th was special (and don't feel bad, I'm creeping to the dirty thirty ahead of you!) Will you loan Nathan out for my birthday? Not sure how Ryan would do in the homemade cake department! Sterling has the same gator jammies - too bad we can't get the 2 boys together for a pajama party matching picture. Can't wait to see all of you in the hopefully not too distant future.
