Today He is 2

2 years ago today I saw his face for the first time. 2 years ago today I found out he was a boy! 2 years ago today I feel so deeply in love that I knew there was no return. Life changed forever. No other person has changed my life quite as profoundly as Jack, making me a mother for the first time. It was one of the top 3 moments in my life, tied with seeing Nathan for the first time on our wedding day and Katelynn's birth if you must know.

That was then....

And this is now...

Jack had his second birthday party at the Memphis Zoo. It was a cold day, but that didn't stop Jack. He had a cake made of donuts (it was 9:30am), his family and best friends, and all the animals he could want surrounding him in the Jungle Room.

Jack got very freaked out by one of his birthday gifts. It was a really cute dinosaur that moves. Well, it moved when Jack put his hand in the bag and he flipped out! He practically jumped into Nathan's arms. I'm not going to lie, I DIED LAUGHING! I caught a picture of him in Nathan's arms in between my laughing and wiping tears away from my eyes!

Katelynn was sleeping during all of the fmaily photo ops!

Jack is a textbook 2 year old, wearing his emotions on his sleeve. He will have a fit like none other and then moments later be wearing the biggest smile. He can be quite a pest and very presistant until he gets what he wants or I put him in timeout. But usually, he is very well behaved and minds us very well. Jack is sleeping in his big boy bed now (and has been for about 3 months - I'm a little delinquent in the blogging department. Soon I'll take pictures of his new furniture and bedding.) He isn't really the best eater, but when he finally gets hungry he will put away the food - specifically mac and cheese. Jack has really started talking in the last month and has even started saying some letters and their sounds, but mostly he focuses on perfecting his car and animal noises. What can I say, he is all boy. Loves dirt, anything with wheels, animals, oh and his bear. That about sums up his interests! But when it comes down to it, Jack is just a sweet sweet boy who absolutely adores his baby sister and us. He is starting to become more independent and confident in his social interactions. We are going to start him in Mother's Day Out in January because I think he is starting to get a little bored with me. Oh tear.
We love you Jack. Time is passing way too fast for me to bear. Our baby is growing up, but we are so excited to see who you will become.
