Nonnie and Pop came up for the weekend to see us. We spent the weekend in true southern style, we ate.
Friday I gave them the extended tour of Olive Branch lasting all of 5 minutes. Apparently this wore the "old folks" out.
Then Friday night we grilled and were entertained by the talented Mr. Jacktivities. Saturday, Mom treated me to a day at the beauty shop, which was like a scene out of Steel Magnolia's. With our fab new do's we headed out to Beale Street to eat some more. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures with my camera, so when I get them from my Mom, I'll post them. Y'all, we ate some serious food - ribs and fried catfish (not me of course). Then we burned off (or so we like to think it's possible to even burn off that kind of food) browsing the junk shops on Beale Street.
After some more napping (I told y'all it was a southern weekend) and playing with Jack, Mom taught me how to sew. My Mother-in-Law gave me her old sewing machine while I was pregnant, and I finally got the courage to dust it off and create. I am working on a blanket right now, which I'll take some pictures of when I am finished. Yes, I officially take the title of Suzy Cream Cheese now!
After Jack went to bed, we treated ourselves to more Southern fare - fried chicken, fried green tomatoes, and corn bread muffins. Seriously good. Seriously bad for you. Just remember when you come to visit me, to leave your Weight Watchers point tabulator thingy at home - trust me it doesn't go that high.
On Sunday morning, we exchanged gifts (Nathan is getting me a dining room furniture!) and then decided to take a walk. We had to at least try and correct the damage done the day before. Then, we cleaned up, relaxed, and yes, went out to eat! Ha - when in Rome...
Mom & Dad left around 3:30pm. Jack was super upset and screamed the rest of the afternoon... But he slept well that night ;)
We loved having Nonnie & Pop here. They spoiled Jack with new clothes, toys, books, and LOTS of LOVE! And they spoiled me with a new do, a sewing basket, and some new workout clothes :) Thanks for everything and thanks for making the trip Nonnie & Pop. Next time, we won't eat so much ;)
And on a Jack note - He turned 5 months yesterday! And is more adorable than ever. In the last week, he has learned (and mastered) how to role from his back to his stomach. Unfortunately, he can't remember how to role back from his stomach to his back, so a lot of nap times end with him crying because he is stuck on his stomach usually in a corner! He is eating most fruits now and likes everything but peaches? We are going to start some veggies this week. His sleeping is improving. Last week was rough - still wanting to eat 3 times a night! So Nathan and I decided it was time for "sleep training" (ie: cry it out). We had done our research and had our game plan for Sunday night, but he slept 7 hours straight, feed, and then slept 3 more! We thought it was a fluke! But then last night he slept for 9 hours straight, fed, and then slept 3 more! Apparently someone tipped him off on what was to come? Let's pray that it stays this way...I'll let you know!
Trying to roll over.
Taking a break.
Tummy Time with Owen.
Ugh. Stuck.
He just rolled over from his back to his stomach here. Check out those chunky thighs!

He is so cute! And I'm very proud of you for sewing. I seem to recall someone making fun of me for being a quilter and now you are a convert! Let me know if you need any tips.
Happy Late Mothers' Day!
And I love Jack's socks! :)
Wow- back to his stomach is harder than stomach to back. Plus he looks like Nathan so much in the tummy pics. I am glad your Mother's Day was so great. Mother hood is the best.
The tummy-time with Owen is so cute. and congrats on the sewing. that is a feat for anyone coming out of 216D.
