walking in memphis

...I'm walking in Memphis
Walking with my feet ten feet off of the Beale
Walking in Memphis
Do I really feel the way I feel ... Lonestar

Our new theme song:)

Last Friday Jack and I boarded a plane and headed up to memphis for our relocation trip. Jack did wonderful on the plane - i was the one with the issues - my ear clogged up from the pressure and i couldn't hear for a day!

we were there from friday to wednesday to house hunt. and boy did we hunt. we looked at about 30 houses and it just about killed me. we finally found a brand new house and negotiated a killer deal with the builder! i am so excited to have a new house with no one else's germs on it! it has a guest room so feel free to plan a trip whenever...

here is our house - it's actually in olive branch mississippi just across the state line.

We didn't do much else besides house hunt. After a long day we would go back to the hotel and crash. It pretty much wore us all out. Nathan walked into the room and apparently Jack and I had fallen asleep. Somehow he had managed to roll over close to me just so he could feel me... so sweet!

We did survive our first tornado while we were there! Didn't know those happend in Memphis. When we were looking at a house on Saturday I heard this siren and asked our realtor what that was. He said a tornado siren, but they only happen once in a blue moon. So I guess it was a blue moon on Tuesday - seriously where are we moving to? One of the big ones hit down while we were negotiating our offer on the house, about 1.5 miles from where we were at the moment. We had to hang out in the men's restroom with all of the realtors. Hopefully we don't see any of those anymore, but just in case I have already started planning my tornado survival kit and which room to make our "shelter".
